Cabinet of Secrets
Cabinet of Secrets was an event I planned and managed as part of a team in second year for MED5068 Event and Exhibition Production. Create and Connect Events, our company name, hosted this exhibition for artists and creative professionals to showcase their work and network with each other.
Convention Volunteer
The summer before starting university, I volunteered at a convention hosted at the ExCel in London; Minecon 2015. This was a brilliant opportunity that I have had the pleasure of repeating at several MCM London Comic Cons and, perhaps my favourite, RTXL 2017 (which I will be returning to as a volunteer or Guardian in 2018).
Working at conventions has given me brilliant experience in team work, especially with regards to being given instruction by a team lead and then having to work as a team with minimal supervision). In addition, there is a heavy focus on customer service; helping, guiding, directing attendees (and talent) of the conventions however possible to make their experience the best possible.
Duties for the conventions included (in addition to the above) goodie bag stuffing, event hall set up, counting attendees into the panels to avoid over-filling rooms, clearing out rooms in preparation for the next panel, line management, and working the registration desk (checking tickets, handing out badges and goodie bags). After the final day of RTXL 2017, all Guardians (volunteers) attended a de-briefing from the Head Guardians Arileya and Boomer (pictured on the shoulders of Team Leads) - but not before we'd played a few rounds of baseball/rounders with some scrunched up tape and a plastic bottle of course!

An image of the talent featured on the RWBY panel. This panel took place in the smaller of RTXL's two panel rooms, in one of the ExCel's convention halls. This was the room I mainly worked over the weekend of the convention, though I did help out in the Platinum Suite during a couple of the busier panels.
